Our Mission

"Acupuncture and herbal medicines have been powerful healing tools for me, and I have witnessed their healing potential in others.

I believe strong individuals make strong communities, and healthy individuals make healthy communities. I practice Chinese Medicine because I believe in holistic medicine and the type of healing that creates whole people.

Ultimately my mission is to build stronger communities by helping people feel more connected to their environment, their community, and ultimately themselves."

Background and Experience

Sydney credits her calling to practice Traditional Chinese Medicine to a combination of her upbringing in a family-line of physicians, and her love of nature and plant medicine. Addressing health and well-being outside of the typical model of pharmaceutical drugs and symptom-based care has also been a lifelong interest.

Sydney began her education with an undergraduate degree in Botany from Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA, followed by a Masters in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine from Bastyr University in Kenmore, WA.

In 2011, she completed an externship at the University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Chengdu, China. It was the highlight of her education to observe the practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine in its homeland.

Returning from Asia, Sydney spent two years in Scottsdale, Arizona under the mentorship of Dr. Jing Liu, L.Ac., OMD, PhD, a leading Acupuncturist and Chinese Herbalist renowned for her work in fertility support and pediatric care.

During her time in Arizona, she was fortunate to also mentor under the esteemed doctor and academician, Dr. Shi Xue Min from TianJin, China. His development of the ‘Xing Nao Kai Qiao’ acupuncture method has been effective in treating post-stroke conditions, as well as many other brain and nervous system disorders.

After moving to Seattle in 2016, Sydney began practicing with Paul G. Nojaim, L.Ac. at West Seattle Acupuncture, and became the clinic owner in 2022.

In her years of practice, Sydney has treated a number of cases, ranging from pain management, stress, insomnia, allergy and sinus issues, to stroke rehabilitation, Tourette’s/ADHD in children, and infertility.

When not working with people, she loves gardening, yoga, and experiencing the many wonders of the world through travel to exotic places.
